Nothing gets me more excited for summer than the chance to BBQ. The smell of wood smoke and the opportunity for a sample of great tri-tip as it comes
of the grill. YUMMY! Nothing is better. However, the only thing that can top that is great BBQ that I don’t have to prepare! If you are like me and
enjoy all the fun and flavor of a BBQ without having to clean the backyard and do the dishes after everyone leaves, then you need to join us at the
31st Annual Butte County Farm Bureau Summer BBQ on Thursday, June 18 at the Fairgrounds in Gridley. And don’t forget your baseball glove and favorite
team jersey.
If you are a regular at this family event than I don’t need to tell you how much fun it is. If you have never attended, than you don’t know what you
are missing. The baseball themed evening starts with a no-host social and the chance to mingle with friends. While you are enjoying the company of
your neighbor, you can take a gander at the numerous raffle prizes to be had. Make sure you buy a few raffle tickets too! If raffle is not for you
and you want a little more control in choosing your prize, then stroll through the Silent Auction and bid-bid-bid. This year’s Silent Auction will
benefit the Butte County Farm Bureau PAC. And if those prizes don’t strike your fancy, then maybe the live auction might have what you are after.
There is something for everyone at the Summer BBQ.
The BBQ dinner will consist of seasoned to perfection tri-tip BBQ’d by the Donati Family, homemade beans, a cool Caesar salad and local rolls from Tin
Roof Bakery. But wait there is also dessert! Back by popular demand in 2009, homemade ice cream made like only Gail Jenkins can create.
To get your tickets, call our office at (530) 533-1473. Tickets are $15/person or two for $25. Children ages 9-12 are $10 each and kids under 8 are
always free. The social hour will start at 5:30 and dinner will be served at 6:30.

There will also be a bounce house and games for the kids so bring the whole family.
Mark your calendar for Thursday, June 18. You bring your appetite and I promise you won’t have to do the dishes. See you at the Summer BBQ.
